A Deeper Understanding of the Aaronic Blessing

Shalom Transforming Greatness Family,

I am so excited to share my journey with you as I am learning the Hebrew alphabet, vocabulary, language, customs and thought. In this early stage I have experienced a deeper level of Numbers 6:24-26 (known as the Aaronic Blessing):

"The Lord bless you and keep you: The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you: The Lord lift his countenance upon you, and give you peace."

Notice that many of the words in this English translation are abstract. Words like bless, keep, gracious, countenance and peace. But when we study the Hebrew words behind the English, this passage is filled with images and meanings that are lost when translated to the English language. When we examine each of the words from their original meaning and cultural perspective, the message in this scripture comes alive.
